What Are neurotoxins?

Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, and Letybo are FDA-approved neuromodulators which temporarily remove wrinkles from the face and neck. The neuromodulators are derived from a purified bacteria called clostridium botulinum. The most common areas for treatment include: the forehead, glabella aka frown lines, crow’s feet, areas around the mouth, chin and neck.

BOTOX is the most popular cosmetic injectable in the world. It has been safely used by hundreds of thousands of people for cosmetic and medical purposes. Botox can prevent lines from getting etched into the skin. By relaxing facial muscles, it prevents new lines from forming and diminishes any existing lines. That’s why it’s common to start doing preventative Botox in your mid-20s.

WHAT WE DO

Our philosophy at Skin Bio is tailored towards providing a rejuvenated, natural look for our patients using Neurotoxins.
During your Neurotoxin consultation, our Medical Practitioner will provide a thorough history and physical examination assessing your facial muscles both at rest and in animation. We will tailor an individual treatment plan based on your needs and goals.
During your procedure, our Medical Practitioner will cleanse the skin and apply a topical anesthesia numbing cream for comfort. Next, our Medical Practitioner will inject small amounts of purified neurotoxin into different muscles of the face. The number of units needed will vary from person to person, and the procedure takes approximately 15 minutes.

WHAT TO EXPECT

There is virtually no downtime following your procedure. You can resume your normal daily activities immediately. Do not lay flat for four hours post-procedure, and wait until next day to exercise. Some patients may experience mild redness, and transient swelling at the injection site. Bruising is not common.

Results may appear in 2-3 days, and gradually take full effect in 14 days. The results usually last three to four months, and may be repeated when wrinkles are visible. Our providers will always review post procedure instructions with you.
